Is the Lone Peak Tram included with Big Sky lift tickets?
Yes. All Big Sky lift tickets for ages 7 and up include unlimited Lone Peak Tram rides on the day of your ticket, for both skiing and scenic rides. To reach the tram, you'll need to be able to ski a green run.
What is Kircliff?
Kircliff is Big Sky's glass observatory at the top of the Lone Peak Tram, at 11,166 feet, with 360-degree views. Access is included with your lift ticket.
How do multi-day Big Sky lift tickets work?
Multi-day tickets let you choose which days you ski within a date range. For example, a 4-of-5-day ticket starting December 17 lets you ski any 4 of the 5 days from December 17 to 21. You can ski the days in a row or take a rest day.
Do kids need a lift ticket at Big Sky?
Yes. All children need a lift ticket and Sky Card to ride the lifts, including the carpet lifts. Lift tickets for kids ages 6 and under are just $1 per day, and when you book through Ski Trip Advisors, we cover the $5 Sky Card fee.
What are the age categories for Big Sky lift tickets?
Child: 6 and under. Junior: 7 to 14. Adult: 15 to 69. Senior: 70 and over.
How do I pick up my Big Sky lift tickets?
After you book, Ski Trip Advisors emails your Big Sky order confirmation with a QR code. Scan it at any Sky Card Express Box at Big Sky Resort, including Mountain Village and Madison Base, to print your Sky Card with your lift ticket loaded. Express Boxes are open 24/7.
How far in advance should I book Big Sky lift tickets?
Please book at least 24 hours before your first ski day. For the best price, book as early as possible, since Big Sky's rates rise as your dates get closer.
Can I cancel my Big Sky lift tickets?
Lift tickets booked through Ski Trip Advisors may be cancelled for a 90% refund if the request is made more than 48 hours before your ticket start date. Within 48 hours, tickets are non-refundable, but you may be eligible for a credit voucher with medical documentation, handled on a case-by-case basis.
When does Big Sky open for the 2026-27 season?
Big Sky Resort is scheduled to open daily from November 25, 2026 through April 11, 2027, plus bonus weekends April 16 to 18 and April 23 to 25, conditions permitting.
What are Big Sky's lift hours?
Lifts run from 9 AM to 4 PM daily, weather permitting.
What is the Big Sky Resort Tax?
Big Sky lift tickets are subject to the 4% Big Sky Resort Tax, a local tax that funds services and programs in the Big Sky community. Montana has no statewide sales tax.
Is Big Sky on the Ikon Pass?
Yes, Big Sky Resort is an Ikon Pass and Mountain Collective destination. Ikon and Mountain Collective passes do not include Lone Peak Tram access, while Big Sky lift tickets do.

Big Sky Resort uses dynamic pricing for the 2026 / 2027 winter season, so lift ticket rates vary by date, age, and how far in advance you book. Rates are based on the first date of skiing.
All Big Sky lift tickets include the Lone Peak Tram and the Kircliff glass observatory.
Please book at least 24 hours before your first ski day.
All tickets are valid at Big Sky Resort only.
Rates do not include the 4% Big Sky Resort Tax.
2 through 4 day tickets include one (1) skip day. 5 through 7 day tickets include two (2) skip days.
Prices and availability may change until your order is confirmed. Date changes or rebooking requests are subject to current pricing and availability. Please review your start date and number of ski days carefully before checkout.

Big Sky Cancellations & Refunds
Lift tickets may be cancelled for a 90% refund of the amount paid if the request is made more than 48 hours before your ticket start date. Within 48 hours of the start date, lift tickets are non-refundable; however, guests may be eligible for a credit voucher if medical documentation is provided. Credit vouchers are handled on a case-by-case basis.
Tickets are paid in full at the time of booking and are non-transferable.
How to Book Online
Enter your ticket start date, name and birthdate, then click "Add to Cart." Please complete this information for EACH skier in your party (do not select multiple quantities). To add tickets for additional skiers, click "Continue Shopping" after adding the first ticket to your cart, and repeat the process for each skier.
Picking Up Your Lift Tickets
Once your order is confirmed, Ski Trip Advisors emails your Big Sky order confirmation, which includes a QR code for picking up your lift tickets.
Sky Card Express Boxes: When you arrive, scan the QR code at a Sky Card Express Box to print your Sky Card with your lift ticket loaded. Express Boxes are open 24/7 and located around Big Sky Resort, including Mountain Village and Madison Base.
In person: Mountain Services at the main base area in Mountain Village or at Madison Base can help you print or pick up your Sky Card. Bring your confirmation and a valid photo ID.
Using Your Sky Card
Big Sky lift tickets are loaded onto a reusable RFID Sky Card, which you scan at the lift gates. Ski Trip Advisors orders a new Sky Card with every ticket, and the card is on us: we cover Big Sky's $5 Sky Card fee, so there's no extra charge. (We do not reload existing Sky Cards.)
Keep your Sky Card in a pocket by itself, away from phones, credit cards and other RFID cards, so it scans properly at the lifts. Lost or damaged Sky Cards require a $5 replacement. Please don't punch a hole in your Sky Card, as this damages the RFID antenna.
Big Sky Resort Tax
Big Sky lift tickets are subject to the 4% Big Sky Resort Tax. The resort tax was approved by Big Sky voters in 1992 and funds local services and programs, including emergency services, public transportation, parks and trails, the community library, and other services that support the Big Sky community.
